With relative peace and stability returning to Liberia, many in the diaspora have been going home — some to settle permanently, others for visits lasting days, weeks, or months. Yet topping the list of concerns for every returnee is the question of adequate healthcare.
The inadequacy of healthcare in Liberia leads to sleepless nights and difficult questions: "What will happen to me when I get sick? What will happen to my family?"
Healthcare professionals like Mrs. Irene Sekle-Momo have been visiting Liberia since 2008, rendering minimal services. But without continuity of care, these "hit and run" healthcare events leave communities without lasting support. DHI was founded to change that — permanently.

The Diaspora Healthcare Initiative, in collaboration with Snohtee Helping Hand Ministry, Inc., exists to provide adequate, affordable, and accessible healthcare to Liberians, returning Diaspora members, and all residents of Liberia.
We envision DHI becoming a comprehensive healthcare system in Liberia that not only serves all Liberians but also receives and treats patients from neighboring countries — a beacon of healthcare excellence in West Africa.
We appeal to Liberian healthcare professionals in the diaspora and friends of Liberia to make their expertise and resources available to DHI. Together, we build lasting healthcare infrastructure — not temporary relief.
Rev. Molley Sackie Cooper is the visionary founder and driving force behind the Diaspora Healthcare Initiative. A passionate advocate for Liberian healthcare, Rev. Cooper recognized the critical gap in healthcare access for Liberians — both those returning from the diaspora and those who have never left.
Moved by the stories of families unable to access adequate medical care, Rev. Cooper founded DHI to create a sustainable, comprehensive healthcare system rooted in Liberian soil. His vision extends beyond emergency relief — he is building institutions that will serve generations of Liberians.
Rev. Cooper's leadership has been recognized by media outlets including Voice of Firestone Radio, where he has spoken about DHI's mission and the urgent need for healthcare infrastructure in Liberia.

Mrs. Irene Sekle-Momo is a dedicated healthcare professional who has been visiting Liberia since 2008, providing medical services to communities in need. Her firsthand experience with the healthcare crisis in Liberia gave her an unshakeable resolve to create lasting change.
Recognizing that "hit and run" healthcare events — where professionals visit briefly and leave without continuity of care — were insufficient, Mrs. Sekle-Momo made the bold decision to return to Liberia permanently. She is the founder of Snohtee Helping Hand Ministry, Inc., and is establishing the St. Michael's Healthcare and Revival Center in Bomi County.
Her defining goal, which has become DHI's rallying cry, is simple and powerful: "That Liberians will no more have to leave Liberia to seek better healthcare."

A glimpse into the real work being done on the ground in Liberia — from healthcare outreach to community support.
